What will get shoe polish out of carpet?

Major liquid shoe polish explosion - one pair of jeans are history but what do I do about black shoe polish on light gray carpet?

What will get shoe polish out of carpet?
By using white spirits, put some on an old rag then work your way inwards of the stain so you don´t spread the stain further. Once your happy the stain has lifted then sponge with a little of your own hair shampoo this works just as well on carpet´s and other fabrics. then with remove the suds with cold water sponge. When you are sure all the suds have been removed lay a towel and a heavy object on the wet stain this will help to dry off any remaining water from the underside f the carpet. leave like this over night and leave to dry with natural air. You might find you will have to sponge the area again at some stage as sooner or later the water mark always reaches the surface , hope this helps you
Reply:RESOLVE CARPET CLEANER
Reply:depends on the exact kind of polish but the usual thing like white spirit will work.
Reply:Oh no, liquid shoe polish? Ugh......

I cant offer a guarantee, but you can try.

Mix one cup of water with 2-3 tablespoons of OxyClean. Spray, or work into the surface, and use a stiff bristled brush, scrub scrub scrub. Afterwards, if you want, you can try using a carpet shampooer. But I know how liquid shoe polish can easily screw things up, I was in the Marines and that stuff is hard to get out. But, its better to try.

Best of luck....
