How do you get shoe polish out of carpet?

I managed to drop a pair of shoes I was polishing onto an expensive carpet. you could help me save my marriage

How do you get shoe polish out of carpet?
I%26#039;m sorry man.

If not dried, and the carpet is white, bleach and blot.

But you have posted it here so it is probably dried. Go to a Carpet store, or a place like Lowe%26#039;s or Home Depot and try to find a match. Cut the Shoe polished piece out and replace with a new piece. If it is in the middle of the room, use carpet tape to adhere it to the new carpet.
Reply:I would try just using water and a cloth with paper towels and try not to spread it around. Cleaning can sometimes make it look much worse though so be careful. Also if it looks like it won%26#039;t come off then own up to your other half.
Reply:ok
Reply:BURN THE CARPET. COLLECT THE BLACK CARBON ***. ADD APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF WATER AND THEN GO...........
