Does shoe polish help increase a shoe's life?

Except for the fact that the shoes look shiny with shoe polish does it increse the shoe%26#039;s life.

Yes, it conditions the leather
Reply:Shoe polish will make the top part of the shoe last longer. If it good polish it should protect the leather and make it last longer.
Reply:Yes, it slows down the leather drying out by putting some oil back into it and by protecting it from water and dryness. You should also use shoe trees, to keep the shoe flat. Think of it as serving the same function as wax on your car.
Reply:Yes I agree it does condition the leather but it also helps if you %26quot;feed%26quot; the leather occasionally i.e. a spray saddle soap obtained from a good saddler keeps leather amazingly supple.
