Ice Cream used to be made with shoe polish? Have you tried?

Ok, my husband insists they made ice cream with shoe polish before the 80s. Is this true? I can%26#039;t believe it. Can you help prove him right?

I know that the anal lubricant I used in the 1950%26#039;s was made with turpentine. So maybe ice kreem also had a similarly dubious parentage.
Reply:No it is a lie. Basically ice cream is churned and frozen Creme Anglaise ( A vanilla dessert sauce) with what ever flavorings ( chocolate, mint etc) are added.
