Remove shoe polish from car paint?

i have little specs of shoe polish stuck to my cars paint and the only way to get them off i know of is scratching them off witch would take hours i didnt know if anyone would know of any chemical stuff to get it off that wont hurt my paint thanks in advance

Remove shoe polish from car paint?
either try a product called clay magic available at parts stores

it%26#039;s just a bar of clay that you use to go over the car with soapy water and it removes minor imperfectins and such or you can try washing the car with a general degreaser such as formula 88 or purple stuff if you use this stuff you will have to wax your car after cuz it%26#039;s gonna strip all the wax off your car,it%26#039;s also a good idea if you use the clay.

DO NOT SCRATCH IT OFF!!!
Reply:I used a hair dryer to heat up some pine tar that stuck to my car, then used a dry paper towel to blot away. after you get it all off, wash it real good and have a heavy coat of wax put on, i did and you couldn%26#039;t even see where the tar was. just use caution, if the paint does come up, they make paint sticks that match the colors of your make and model of your car. then another alternative is, and only if you don%26#039;t mind the paint lightening up is this great stuff called GOOF-OFF. serious stuff, be careful with this stuff, you can buy it at home depot. works great, just don%26#039;t go overboard with it, cause it will do some damage, Ive seen it make a hole in sheet rock when left for a few days, so don%26#039;t let it sit too long.
Reply:I have also used the clay to remove over-spray from the surface of the vehicle and it works great. If you cant get it at your local auto parts store then ask your local body shop if they will sell you some of it and remember that you can reuse it over and over again.
