Can you "dye" a car interior by rubbing back shoe polish on it? I heard this once but IDK if it's true or not.

I have a brown interior and was told using black shoe polish could %26quot;dye%26quot; it to black.

Yeah, you could do it, but you would also dye all your clothes when you sit on the seats and the polish wipes off.

You should look for a different approach.
Reply:you can have it dyed professionally but the shoe polish thing will be a mess you dont want .
Reply:Riding in your car on a hot day, the toxic fumes would probably kill you.
Reply:Shoe polish will come off the sale dye in a spray can that works for carpet or vinyl at any pep-boys or auto zone
Reply:Are you talking about the headliner or the dash and all the plastic parts? I think that what ever you try to dye, it would take a lot and smell like a shoe afterwards. You can buy cloth dye for the headliner, and just use a plastics paint for the rest.
