(shoes are brown and the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn)
What's the best way to care for my new Doc Marten's? They apparently don't "like" conventional shoe polish.
Buy a leather conditioner. One I recommend is "Black Rock".
Wipe dirt or dust off your shoes then rub the "Black Rock" into the leather with your hands or a soft cloth. The leather will absorb the cream and you can buff them with a dry cloth.
If you get a scuff use cream polish in a matching color, but the conditioner is best. Think saddles, reins, etc...leather stays supple and will make your shoes last longer.
Reply:I'd go with wiping them over with a damp cloth, waiting until they are dry and then buffing them with one of those yellow furniture cloths, maybe even a squirt of Mr. Sheen furniture polish on the cloth to get some gleam. :-)
