How many people polish their shoes?

I remember when I was a kid in the 70's that my dad used to pay me to polish his shoes. It involved several steps, and I don't think people take the time to do that any more- or maybe I think that because I don't. Shoe polish doesn't seem to be in many stores like it used to be. I wonder if thats' because people go around with scuffy shoes, or do they throw them out as soon as they go out of fashion?

If you go to a shop nowadays there are a number of products you just put on and they more or less shine for themself. Also there are buffer containing silicone which makes them shine.


There is nother better, more rewarding than a got polish. It is better for the leather, makes is waterresistant and increases the life expectancy of the shoe.

Reply:I polish my sneakers, but it always looks like crap for some reason. Might be because they are white and I'm using black shoe polish. Is that wrong?

Reply:I think it's just that alot of people wear shoes that don't need polishing. But I think people do still polish smart shoes. Some people are too lazy to, but the ones who want to dress properly and smart do.
Reply:I work for the United States Post Office, I shine my shoes quite often, believe me though if I didnt have to, I sure wouldnt
