Trying to get shoe polish off my bright red dodge! I've washed.....?

it three times and the only way to get the remaining specks off is to pick it off with my nails. I'm afraid I'm going to screw up my paint job! Someone told me to use rubbing alcohol to get it off. What cha think?

Rubbing alcohol may work but it will definitely take off the polish. I would recommend using a dish scrubber. Meaning the type with the spong inside of a cloth mesh. Do not use a brillo or sos pad. or a hard plastic scrubber. Also you might try the new turtle wax ice liquid clay bar and the ive polish. The work well considering the manufacturer. The only other option i can think of besides picking it off is to try a clay bar available at an auto parts place like autozone and following up with a good coat of polish and wax
Reply:You can also try using a cleaner car wax suitable for clear coat finishes. That should help you. good luck.

The next time you feel like using shoe polish on your new car, try waxing it first. This will help it from soaking into the paint.
Reply:Use bug and tar remover...very lightly...then wash off immediately with soap and water.
Reply:I think you should have it detailed, and make whoever put shoe polish on the paint pay for it.
Reply:Try wd-40(a lubricant),it,s been known to remove even graffitti paint off a vehicle without having to repaint it.
Reply:Try some "bug /tar remover" from any auto parts store .Its made for cars so good luck.
